Trade Copier
Mirror one connected MetaTrader account's trades onto your other connected accounts. Choose a master, pick your targets, set how each copy is sized, and every open, close and partial close is repeated automatically.
Overview
Trade Copier mirrors the trades of one connected MetaTrader account onto your other connected accounts. You pick a master account and one or more targets, choose how each copy is sized, and from then on every trade the master opens, closes or partly closes is repeated on the targets within seconds.
It works on the accounts you already have connected to TradeSgnl. Both sides run the same EA and the same connection you use for signals, so there is nothing new to install on the target beyond keeping the EA up to date.
Every trade, not just signals
Trades you place by hand on the master are copied the same way as trades the EA placed from a signal.
Sized for each account
Fixed lots, a multiple of the master's size, or scaled by the two accounts' equity.
A record of every copy
The activity feed shows what was copied, what was not, and the reason in plain words.
Where to find it
Trade Copier lives in your portal navigation under Trading. You need at least two connected accounts to use it, since an account cannot copy itself.
Both accounts need EA 0.71
This is the requirement people hit first, and it applies to both ends of a Trade Copier, for two different reasons.
| Account | Why it needs 0.71 |
|---|---|
| Master | Only 0.71 reports its trades. An older master sends nothing, so a Trade Copier built on it would look healthy and quietly never copy anything. |
| Target | Only 0.71 can close one position by its ticket. An older target treats a close as "close everything on this symbol", so copying a close to it would shut unrelated trades you never meant to touch. |
You do not have to work this out yourself. When you create a Trade Copier, every account you own is listed, and any account that cannot be used is shown greyed out with the reason on the row, including the EA version it is actually running. An account already following another master, and the master itself, are refused the same way.
Update the EA on both accounts first
Get EA 0.71 or newer from the Downloads page in your portal and install it on the master and on every target before you set a Trade Copier up. If an account is later downgraded, the Trade Copier's detail panel says so at the top.
Setting One Up
Open Trade Copier in your portal and click New Trade Copier. The dialog has four steps.
Master account. The account whose trades get copied. One account is the master of a given Trade Copier.
Copy to. The targets. You can pick several at once, and each one becomes its own Trade Copier, so you can pause or resize them independently afterwards. If one of your choices cannot be used, the others are still created and the dialog names the one it refused and why.
Sizing. How big each copy is, in one of the three modes below.
Symbols. Leave this empty to copy every symbol, or list the symbols you want and nothing else is copied.
Sizing
Every Trade Copier sizes its copies one of three ways. The right one depends on how close the two accounts are in size.
| Mode | What it does | When it fits |
|---|---|---|
| Fixed lots | Every copy opens at the size you set, whatever the master traded. | A target you want to keep to a constant, small risk regardless of what the master does. |
| Multiplier | Copies at a multiple of the master's size. 0.5 halves it, 2 doubles it. | Two accounts you already size deliberately against each other. |
| Equity ratio | Scales each copy by the two accounts' equity, so a target with half the equity trades half the size. An extra multiplier on top is optional. | Accounts of different sizes that should carry the same risk in percentage terms. |
Equity ratio uses the last hourly reading
The EA uploads each account's equity about once an hour, so the target's equity figure can be up to an hour old. If there is no equity reading for the target at all, the copy is recorded as Skipped with that reason rather than guessed at.
What Gets Copied
Every trade on the master counts, whether you placed it by hand in MetaTrader or the EA placed it from a signal.
- Opens. A new position on the master opens a matching position on each target, in the same direction, on the same symbol, at your chosen size.
- Full closes. Closing on the master closes the copy.
- Partial closes. Closing part of the position on the master closes the same proportion on the copy.
The copy opens with the master's stop loss and take profit already on it, at the same prices. The symbol mapping on the target's licence is applied, so a master trading EURUSD still copies correctly to a target whose broker calls it EURUSD.pro. Mapping belongs to the licence, not to the individual account, so two accounts running on the same licence share one set of mappings.
Copies carry a comment starting with TSC followed by the master's account number, so you can tell them apart in MetaTrader at a glance.
What Is Not Copied
These are the real limits of the current version. None of them are errors, and none of them will be reported as a failure, so they are worth reading before you rely on a Trade Copier.
- Moves to the stop loss or take profit on the master do not follow. The copy opens with the master's levels, and then keeps them. If you drag the stop on the master afterwards, the copy keeps the level it opened with.
- Pending orders are not mirrored. A buy limit sitting on the master creates nothing on the target. When it fills, that fill is copied, as a market entry at the price available on the target at that moment.
- Trailing stops and breakeven are not copied. If the master's EA moves a stop as part of trailing or breakeven, the copy does not move with it. The target's own EA settings still apply to copied positions in the normal way, so if the target EA has trailing switched on, it will trail its copies using its own inputs. That is your choice to make, not something Trade Copier blocks.
Timing and Connection
Two rules decide whether a trade makes it across.
Entries older than 30 seconds are skipped. If a trade cannot be copied at once, usually because of a brief connection problem, it is dropped rather than opened late. A late entry at a price that has already moved is worse than no entry. When this happens the copy is recorded as Skipped and says so.
Exits are never skipped. However long an exit takes to get through, it is still the exit you wanted. A close is always attempted, even on a Trade Copier you have paused, because an open copy has to be able to leave the market with its master.
The target has to be connected when the master opens. There is no queue. If the target is offline at the moment the master opens a trade, that trade is recorded as Missed with the reason, and the target does not pick it up later when it reconnects. The Trade Copier's detail panel warns you up front when its target is currently offline.
Pausing
Pausing a Trade Copier stops new entries. Copies already open still close with their master. Deleting a Trade Copier stops everything, and any copy that is open at that moment stays open on the target for you to manage yourself, and its TSC comment is how you find it in MetaTrader.
Netting Accounts
Trade Copier is built for hedging accounts, which is what the large majority of MetaTrader 5 accounts are.
A netting master mirrors nothing on a reversal
On a netting account, reversing a position is a single event that closes one side and opens the other. The current version does not copy that event at all: no close and no open reaches the targets, and your copy is left holding the original direction. If your master account is netting, reverse by closing and then opening again as two separate actions.
Reading the Activity Feed
Select a Trade Copier and the panel on the right shows what it has been doing: copies today, how many are open, when the last one was, and the target's equity. Under that, one row per trade.
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Open | The copy was opened and is still open on the target. |
| Closed | The copy closed, with its master. |
| Missed | It should have been copied and was not. The usual reason is that the target was not connected. |
| Skipped | It was deliberately not copied. The reason column says which rule applied, such as an entry more than 30 seconds old or a missing equity reading. |
| Rejected | The target refused the order. The reason column carries what it said. |
| Orphaned | An exit arrived for a master position this Trade Copier has no record of opening. Nothing is closed on a guess, so the event is recorded and left alone. |
Trades that a symbol filter excluded, and trades on a paused Trade Copier, are not copied and do not appear in the feed at all.
